Throughout the day today, a cold front will make its way through much of the state. With this front, temperatures will drop below freezing, and adequate moisture will be present over Lake Erie due to the lake's warmth. This will cause lake effect snow across northwestern Pennsylvania, especially in Elk, Forest, McKean, and Warren counties.
Snowfall amounts of 6 inches or higher are possible in the strongest parts of the band.
