Lake effect snow likely in northwestern Pennsylvania over the Thanksgiving holiday.
During the evening into the overnight hours on Wednesday, a cold front will move across the state. This cold front will cause the high temperatures for the next few days to significantly drop. We have been seeing highs recently in the 40s and 50s, however starting on Thanksgiving Day it will struggle to reach the 40s and will remain in the 30s for most of the state.
At the same time, a classic lake effect snow setup will shape to form across the Great Lakes, where snowfall amounts of over a foot are possible east of the lakes.
Thankfully (or not thankfully, depending on who you are) this event will not cause any school delays or closures as this is taking place over the Thanksgiving holiday, however some business closures are possible, specifically in Erie, Crawford, Warren, and McKean counties.
I would normally include a radar for this, however I am writing this on the go on my (slow) laptop, and I cannot get the radar to work so I am going to end this article here. Stay tuned to weather.gov or this website for more information.
